Mongoose Mud Shale Shaker
The first line of solids control system has been and will continue to be, the shale shaker proper screening of the drilling fluid during this initial removal step is vital to develop efficiency and effectiveness of all downstream solids control equipment in the system. Otherwise, the downstream hydrocyclones will simply be overloaded beyond their designed capacity.
Shale shakers use a vibrating screen surface to conserve the drilling fluid and eject drilled solids. The effects of this shale shakers vibration are described in terms of the G factor, or the function of angular displacement of a screen and square of the rotational speed. Angular displacement is achieved by rotating an eccentric mass. Most shale shakers are designed to be operated at a specific, fixed G factor by matching the stroke to a given machine’s rotational speed. It follows that any deviation in speed will affect the G factor and influences the shaker performance.
